Met an 85 year old man the other day and he told me his secret of longevity was, “get up everyday and eat lots of doughnuts.”
Not exactly a Baby-Boomer, but there are approximately 75,000,000 Boomers in the U.S. These are people born between 1946 and 1964. The big economic threat is that these people are living longer than the norm and they are retiring at a fast rate. 17% of Boomers are already retired. During the recession, billions of their dollars were lost in retirement accounts. So, this bunch will be a burden on the government and the younger generation who will be forced to take care of them as they decline – financially and medically.
What’s the solution? … Can you say, “soylent green”?
